As a machining provider, we’re pretty good. Few companies our size boast our capabilities, particularly in machining large parts.

But we’re also much more than just a good machine shop. Merrill Tool & Machine is part of a family of companies designed to provide full production services from one source.

We provide engineering services to many customers, including design feasibility studies and CAD/CAM support. With our sister companies, we can fabricate, program and integrate the machines that make your part concepts become reality. In addition, we offer shot peening, vibratory finishing, part marking and industrial painting services so we can deliver finished parts to our customers. Part delivery and pick-up services are also available. We are always eager to demonstrate that Merrill is much more than just a tool and machine source.

Engineering

Part design. Solid model machining. Reverse engineering. Merrill brings another dimension to our services with engineering capabilities using:

With computer-aided machining capabilities, Merrill Tool writes programs to machine parts direct from solid models and surfaces with support for full 5-axis continuous motion contouring. We can even verify tool paths prior to cutting parts.

Fabrication

Merrill Tool & Machine offers complete make-to-print services. Partnering with Merrill Fabricators, we can build any fabrication prior to machining.

Assembly

Look to Merrill Tool & Machine to help you get it together. After building all details for equipment, including fixtures, gages and sub-assemblies, we can handle assembly as well.

Merrill Engineering & Integration, the process engineering and integration arm of Merrill Technologies Group, can design and build custom equipment for assembly, testing, machining and welding, from basic lean cells to fully automated lines … as well as handle complex assembly services on a contract basis.

Shot Peening

Merrill Tool & Machine can reduce the potential for surface failures in highly stressed parts by shot peening. We perform this process either manually or fixtured and automated. We can peen to Almen A, C, and N intensity specifications. Our media include steel shot, cut wire or glass, or ceramic beads. Our shot peening process meets all of the following specifications:

• MIL-S-13165C
• SAE AMS 2430M
• SAE AMS 2431/1C

If your part is too large for us, we have a number of certified suppliers, allowing us to offer you a single point of responsibility for your part.

Vibratory Finishing

Vibratory finishing effectively deburrs, descales and cleans and polishes parts. Merrill Tool & Machine can perform this with a variety of loose media and solutions to achieve the best finish for the material and application of the part.

Part Marking

Serial numbers, part numbers, lot and batch numbers … Merrill Tool’s in-house pin stamping and acid etching equipment accurately mark your parts with your preferred identifying information.

Industrial Painting

Merrill Fabricators offers complete industrial painting services for machinery, fabrications, castings and other items. At our place or yours: we can even offer painting services at your plant.

We can paint virtually any surface using:

• Cor-Cote high build epoxy novolac coatings
• Oil based paints
• Water based paints
• Specialty paints such as conductive coatings
• Chemical Agent Resistant Coatings (CARC)

Trucking

With several trucks on the road daily, we can handle most deliveries. We also have excellent working relationships with a number of common carriers for shipping oversize parts.
